EAI Soul Studio uses OpenAI to power its AI features. This page explains what information is sent to OpenAI and how it is handled. For how we handle your data overall, see our Privacy & Legal policy.
OpenAI
Powers all AI features in the Studio.
When you use an AI feature, the content needed for that feature is sent to OpenAI to generate a response. This includes:
- Test conversations — your persona's instructions and the messages you exchange while testing it.
- Voice — audio you record for speech-to-text, and text converted to speech.
- Generation — the inputs and source files you provide to generate a persona, written content, or an avatar image.
- Knowledge bases — files you upload so your persona can reference them.
How your data is handled
- OpenAI does not use this data to train its models.
- For most features, your inputs are processed in real time and retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted.
- Knowledge-base files are stored with OpenAI (as searchable indexes) so your persona can use them, and remain until you delete the knowledge base or your account.
- We do not store your voice recordings on our servers.
If you provide your own OpenAI API key (bring-your-own-key), your inputs go directly from your browser to OpenAI under your own OpenAI account and terms. In the hosted Studio, OpenAI processes this data as our service provider.

What we don't do
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell your data. The only cookies the Studio sets are the essential ones needed to sign you in and keep it working.
Your controls
You can export or delete your data at any time from the account menu in the Studio. Deleting your account also removes the knowledge-base files associated with it from OpenAI.
